The Green Party manifesto pledged to plant 700 million trees over the next 10 years. This compares with eleven million planted between 2010 and 2015, and the Conservative 2017 manifesto pledged to plant a further 11 million by 2020. According to the BBC reality check, they are falling so far behind this pledge, it is probably impossible to meet. You can get free trees from the Woodland Trust and some energy companies. In Wyndham Park, Grantham, we have started a biodiversity group. We have planted over 400 hedgerow trees and have another 320 arriving in the autumn.
